Since the second quarter, the expressway projects under construction of Anhui Transportation Holding Group have continued to seize favorable weather, accelerate project construction, and continuously set off an upsurge of hard work. As of now, the group has completed a cumulative investment of 8.696 billion yuan in expressway construction this year, accounting for 43.24% of the annual plan.

Breakthroughs in projects scheduled to open to traffic

Focusing closely on the key milestones of projects scheduled to open to traffic within the year, advantageous resources have been concentrated to win the final battle. On May 10, the 107-kilometer Hefei-Xuzhou South Expressway reconstruction and expansion project was fully completed and opened to traffic, marking the full formation of the eight-lane expressway radial lines of the Hefei metropolitan area. The Ningjing Expressway is making every effort to sprint toward the goal of completion by the end of October, having completed 80% of cumulative investment; the asphalt lower surface course is basically completed, and the middle and upper surface courses are 40% complete; all building construction works have been topped out and have entered the interior decoration stage; and 90% of traffic safety column construction has been completed.

Continued projects tap potential and forge ahead

Seizing the golden construction period for large-scale construction projects, process linkages have been continuously optimized, and project milestones have been constantly refreshed. The Hefei-Xuzhou North Expressway reconstruction and expansion project continues to concentrate efforts on the main works, and the cofferdam bottom sealing for main piers No. 17 and No. 18 of the Huaihe River Grand Bridge, a controlling project, has been completed. The Tongcheng-Anqing reconstruction and expansion of the Hefei-Anqing Expressway has made full use of the favorable conditions of half-width closure construction; more than half of the old bridge demolition has been completed, and 42% of the culvert extension on both sides has been completed. For the Gaojie section reconstruction and expansion of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, land delivery has been basically completed and housing demolition has exceeded 95%, achieving full-scale construction. For the Ningzong Expressway, pipe roof construction for five tunnels including Fenghuangshan has been fully completed, and tunnel excavation has started along the entire line. For the Dongpo Expressway, pile foundations for five major bridges including Wangcun and Zhejiaban have all been completed. For the Bodan Expressway project, land delivery has been basically completed, and bridge pile foundations are 24% complete. The advance section of the Shutong section of the Huaitong Expressway is about to start construction.

Early-stage projects improve quality and accelerate

A ten-day scheduling mechanism has been established for early-stage projects, and preliminary procedures such as design approval and land approval are being comprehensively accelerated. The permanent land use for Phase II of the Wuxuan Expressway reconstruction and expansion project has been submitted out of the province to the Ministry. Construction drawing reviews have been completed for reconstruction and expansion projects such as the Lianyungang-Horgos Expressway and Phase I of the Jiefubang Expressway. County-level document assembly for the Liangting-Anqing Interchange section reconstruction and expansion of the Hefei-Anqing Expressway, as well as projects such as the Xuandong Expressway and the Fusui Expressway, has reached 70%. The land use pre-examination for the Quanlu Expressway has been approved, and preparations for land use approval are underway.
