Yesterday, the first segment of the main-line steel trestle of the Changhai Bridge—the largest cross-sea bridge in Northeast China—was precisely closed, marking the project's official transition into a comprehensive construction assault phase. The project is led by China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) and constructed with the participation of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division. The successful achievement of this key milestone has opened up the main maritime transport corridor and sounded the charge for subsequent full-line construction.

At 10:58 yesterday, the closure segment of section K13+700 was precisely positioned through the coordinated operation of two crawler cranes. It is understood that the main-line steel trestle, with a total length of 11.6 kilometers and a width of 9 meters, serves as the core maritime material transport channel for the project, undertaking important functions such as building material transfer, entry of large machinery, and personnel commuting, making it a veritable lifeline for offshore construction. The trestle adopts an assembled structure of "steel pipe piles + Bailey beams," which, while ensuring structural stability, maximizes protection of the marine ecological environment and effectively breaks through the transport bottleneck caused by tidal levels and adverse weather in offshore construction. Bai Yu, Chief Engineer of the Northeast Company of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division and Commander of the Changhai Bridge Project, said: "The smooth closure of the main-line steel trestle this time marks the project's official entry into the comprehensive assault phase. As the lifeline of offshore construction, the trestle closure has completely opened up the maritime transport channel, effectively resolved the construction bottlenecks caused by tides and wind waves, and laid a solid foundation for subsequent main bridge construction."

In response to construction difficulties such as complex ocean currents, turbulent wind and waves, and changeable weather in the sea area, the project optimized its construction plan and scientifically arranged the construction schedule, completing with high quality the pile-driving of more than 2,500 steel pipe piles to solidify the offshore construction foundation. This closure operation achieved excellent precision indicators: a closure plan deviation of 3 millimeters and a height difference of 4 millimeters, far superior to the ±10 millimeter control standard; the docking span error was only 0.04 meters, precisely completing millimeter-level docking operations. During construction, intelligent management and control safeguarded the project, enabling real-time monitoring of construction data and automatic early warning of safety risks, comprehensively enhancing the quality, efficiency, and safety control capabilities of offshore construction. The assembled trestle structure can be turned over and reused, and green construction techniques continuously reduce disturbance to the marine environment.

It is reported that the closure of the first segment of the steel trestle this time will open up a key logistics route for the subsequent construction of the main bridge's pile foundations, pier bodies, and superstructure.
