On May 10, the first pile foundation of Pier 63 of the main bridge of the Huinong Yellow River Railway Bridge, a controlling project of the Huanghui Railway Dedicated Line constructed by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, was officially drilled, marking that the main bridge of the project has fully entered the substantive construction stage.

The Huinong Yellow River Railway Bridge connects Shizuishan City with Wuhai City of Inner Mongolia, with a total length of 5.437 kilometers. The main bridge adopts a rigid-frame continuous girder structure with a main span of 120 meters. Located in a canyon-type section of the Yellow River, it features complex hydrological conditions, variable riverbed geology, numerous construction interference factors, high safety risks and strict ecological and environmental protection requirements.

To ensure the smooth progress of the first drilling, the construction unit Ningxia Logistics Group carried out overall coordination, and the project team of China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group communicated in advance with the competent authorities of Ningxia and Inner Mongolia, completed the prerequisite safety and environmental protection work in accordance with laws and regulations, fully allocated construction elements such as personnel, materials and equipment, installed a mud circulation and purification system, and implemented the requirements for civilized construction. At the same time, relying on intelligent information-based construction methods, it increased the monitoring frequency of the steel trestle and construction platform and strengthened safety and quality control throughout the whole process. During construction, the technique of "double-layer guide frame + follow-up drilling" was adopted to strictly control the verticality of steel casing driving, creating conditions for the smooth construction of the pile foundation.

The Huanghui Railway Dedicated Line is a key railway project jointly promoted by Ningxia and Inner Mongolia. After completion and opening to traffic, it will open up a new land-sea intermodal transport corridor for bulk cargo from Huinong District directly to Huanghua Port and Tianjin Port, and become the core infrastructure for eastward inter-provincial railway transportation in northern Ningxia. It is of great significance for implementing the strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, improving the railway interconnection network between Shizuishan and Wuhai, promoting the transformation of the transport structure from road to rail, reducing logistics costs and advancing the coordinated development of regional industries.
