Recently, Phase I (Xuan-Hang Railway–Hangxing Road section) of the Kangliang Road (Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal–Yunxi Elevated) Project, a provincial "Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan" initiative undertaken by the Yuhang Communications Investment Group, successfully passed the intermediate structural acceptance inspection of its bridges.

Phase I of the Kangliang Road (Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal–Yunxi Elevated) Project starts from Yunxi Elevated in the west and ends at Hangxing Road in the east, with a total length of approximately 4.7 kilometers and a total investment of about 4.485 billion yuan. It is a composite urban express corridor combining an "elevated expressway plus ground-level arterial road," with a design speed of 80 km/h for the elevated mainline and 60 km/h for the ground-level road. Both the elevated and ground-level roads feature a standard cross-section of six lanes in each direction, providing solid support for efficient and smooth regional traffic.

The route successively crosses under the Huzhou-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway, the Hangzhou Ring Expressway, and the new Xuan-Hang Railway, spanning multiple traffic "breakpoints," with high technical difficulty and heavy coordination tasks. Yet it is precisely this "threading the needle" style of precise alignment that makes Kangliang Road the core express corridor of the Greater Chengbei area.

Upon completion, the project will not only achieve direct interconnection between Liangzhu New Town and the Yuhang Economic Development Zone, but will also seamlessly connect to Yunxi Elevated via the Zhazhuangqiao Interchange, allowing residents in Chengbei to quickly reach key areas such as Future Sci-Tech City and Hangzhou West Railway Station. Based on an assessment combining the current traffic conditions in Greater Chengbei, Hangzhou, and operating experience from similar expressways, regional commuting time is expected to be reduced by about 20%, greatly improving the overall traffic service level of Greater Chengbei, Renhe, Liangzhu New Town, and other areas.

At present, approximately 33% of the project's overall works have been completed, and the elevated bridges have entered the critical period of superstructure construction. For the Yunxi Elevated–Huzhou-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway section, box girders are 10% complete and overall works are about 26% complete; for the Xuan-Hang Railway–Hangxing Road section, box girders are 87% complete and overall works are about 67% complete; and pile foundation construction for bridges in the Huzhou-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway–Xuan-Hang Railway section is progressing in an orderly manner. According to plan, the project will be fully completed by the end of December 2027.
