At the construction site of the Fuxing Chishui River Grand Bridge on the Chongqing-Chishui-Xuyong Expressway, more than 50 workers are carrying out rebar tying for pier columns, formwork installation and other operations, with each step closely coordinated. At present, pile foundation construction has been completed90%, and work is in full swing on the main bridge's main piers, the lower structure of the approach bridges, and the foundation of the cable hoisting system. The bridge's main works are expected to be basically completed by October next year.

The Fuxing Chishui River Grand Bridge, 535.8 meters long, spans the Chishui River. It is located along the steep, geologically complex banks of the Chishui River and is close to a national key protected water area, imposing extremely high environmental protection requirements on construction. To overcome these challenges, the construction team has continuously optimized techniques and refined procedures.

"Pile foundation construction must pass through a 16-meter-thick backfill layer, and drilling is prone to hole collapse. We adopted a technique of secondary drilling after concrete backfilling to ensure the quality of the hole wall and the pile foundation. On the environmental front, we set up centralized drainage ditches near both banks of the Chishui River to channel water to a three-stage sedimentation tank for centralized treatment, strictly safeguarding the ecological defense line," said Wu Pantao, the technician in charge of the Chishui River Grand Bridge in Section 5 of the Chongqing-Chishui-Xuyong project.

The Fuxing Chishui River Grand Bridge is one of the controlling projects of the Guizhou section of the Chongqing-Chishui-Xuyong Expressway. Once completed, it will become an important hub connecting Guizhou, Sichuan and Chongqing.As of now, the overall progress of the Guizhou section of the Chongqing-Chishui-Xuyong Expressway has reached 20.8%, of which the roadbed progress is 28.02%, the bridge progress is 22.1%, and the tunnel progress is 8.54%. Construction forces are sufficient and machinery is fully in place along the entire line.
