　　As an important controlling project of the Neijiang section of the project, the Tianjia Junction Interchange is located near Sanyuan Village in the south of Tianjia Town, Dongxing District. It adopts a T-shaped interchange layout, with 2,180 meters of newly built roads and 11 planned bridges within the interchange scope, with a total length of 2,383 meters. Construction of the interchange is currently advancing steadily; 100,000 cubic meters of roadbed earth and rock work have been completed, and piling for 67 bridge foundation piles has been finished, laying a solid preliminary foundation for the overall construction of the project.

　　The Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway Capacity Expansion Project is a national-level key transportation infrastructure project and a key transportation artery linking the two core cities of Chengdu and Chongqing. It is of great significance for improving the expressway network layout in the Chengdu-Chongqing region and enhancing regional traffic efficiency. The project starts at Sangjiapo at the Sichuan-Chongqing border, passes through Jine Subdistrict in Longchang City, Shinian Town in Longchang City, Purun Town in Longchang City, Jieshi Town in Longchang City, Shunhe Town in Dongxing District, Tianjia Town in Dongxing District, Shuangcai Town in Dongxing District, Fuxi Town in Dongxing District, Gaoqiao Subdistrict in Neijiang High-tech Zone, Shengli Subdistrict in Neijiang High-tech Zone, Chonglong Town in Zizhong County, and Shuanglong Town in Zizhong County within the Neijiang area, linking Ziyang, Jianyang and other cities and counties, and finally ends near Gaodong in Longquanyi District, Chengdu, achieving seamless connection with Chengdu's east-west axis.

　　The project has a total length of 189.75 kilometers, of which about 94 kilometers are within Neijiang, running through multiple counties (cities and districts) and functional zones, with outstanding radiating and driving capacity. In terms of construction standards, the main line adopts the technical standard of a two-way 8-lane expressway, the 10.5-kilometer section from Shipan to the endpoint is two-way 6-lane, and the Longchang branch line is built to the two-way 4-lane standard, which will completely break the traffic bottleneck of the original expressway. The project has a huge engineering volume, with plans to build 180 bridges, 1 tunnel, 32 interchanges, and 4 service areas. The project covers about 22,597 mu in total, of which the Neijiang section covers about 11,511 mu. Ten toll stations, including Shinian, Tianjia, and Zizhong, will also be laid out to further facilitate travel for people along the route and precisely serve local industrial development and economic exchanges.

　　It is understood that at present, all construction subdivisions of the Neijiang section have fully entered the construction stage. Construction has started on 115 bridges, with a cumulative total of 4,354 foundation piles and 1,721 pier columns completed; for roadbed works, 13.51 million cubic meters of excavation and 9.68 million cubic meters of filling have been completed, and 2.19 million meters of gravel piles and 1.03 million meters of drainage boards have been completed respectively. All sub-items are progressing steadily as planned.

　　After the project is completed, it will further shorten the time and space distance between Neijiang and cities such as Chengdu and Ziyang, deepen interregional exchanges and cooperation, promote resource sharing and complementary advantages, help optimize the spatial structure of the Chengdu metropolitan area, and improve the conditions for in-depth regional economic development. At the same time, it will effectively enhance the traffic capacity of the national expressway corridor, strengthen the carrying capacity of national strategy, fully stimulate the vitality of regional economic development, and provide strong transportation support for Neijiang to deeply integrate into the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle and build itself into an important node city on the Chengdu-Chongqing development axis.
