On April 20, construction of the Jingjiang section of the Yancheng-Yixing High-Speed Railway reached an important milestone: the first batch of bridge piers for Section 06 (station-front section) undertaken by China Railway 20th Bureau Group began concrete pouring. This marks the section's transition from the underground pile foundation stage to the above-ground pier shaft stage, creating favorable conditions for subsequent girder erection and track laying.

At 9 a.m., at the construction site in Dongnan Village, Jingcheng Subdistrict, two 6.5-meter-high bridge piers were already standing, and workers were simultaneously carrying out bored pile and pile cap pouring operations. Li Jinbao, chief engineer of the Fourth Sub-division of Section 06 (station-front section) of the Yancheng-Yixing Railway under China Railway 20th Bureau Group, said that this area is exactly where the future Jingjiang High-Speed Railway Station will be located and is also the core area for construction of the Jingjiang Elevated Station Grand Bridge.

As a longitudinal backbone line in Jiangsu Province's "six vertical and six horizontal" high-speed railway network, the Yancheng-Yixing High-Speed Railway starts from Yancheng in the north and ends at Yixing in the south, with a main line length of about 311 kilometers and 11 stations, and the entire line is divided into 11 sections under simultaneous construction. The Jingjiang section involves Sections 06 and 07, of which Section 06 is mainly bridges and Section 07 is mainly the shield-tunnel river-crossing section.

Section 06 undertaken by China Railway 20th Bureau Group starts from Houhe Village, Maqiao Town in the north and connects to the Yancheng-Yixing Railway river-crossing section in the south, with a total length of 29.537 kilometers, passing through Gushan Town, Chengbei Park, Jingcheng Subdistrict and Binjiang New Area. This section requires the construction of three bridges—the Taijing Grand Bridge, the Jingjiang Grand Bridge and the Jingjiang Elevated Station Grand Bridge—with a total of 8,057 pile foundations, 950 pile caps and 953 pier columns.

"The main construction difficulties of Section 06 include crossing over the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and the Jingjiang Elevated Station Grand Bridge. At present, the first batch of pier columns has entered the pouring stage," Li Jinbao said. During pouring, the technical team was on duty throughout, strictly controlling the concrete mix ratio, pouring speed and vibration compaction to ensure that pier shaft quality meets design requirements. At present, about 80% of the bored piles and 30% of the pile caps for the Jingjiang Elevated Station Grand Bridge have been completed, and the first batch of bridge pier columns is also being poured in an orderly manner in various construction areas of Section 06.

As the pier columns gradually "appear," Jingjiang residents will more intuitively feel the progress of high-speed railway construction. It is understood that this year, while ensuring safety, China Railway 20th Bureau Group will complete about 80% of the bored piles, 45% of the pile caps and 30% of the pier columns for the entire Section 06. Next, the construction team will continue to optimize construction organization and resource allocation, strictly control safety and quality, and strive to build the Yancheng-Yixing High-Speed Railway into a premium project that can stand the test of time.
