During the 2026 New Year holiday, at the construction sites of multiple major infrastructure projects in the Hainan Free Trade Port, construction machinery roared and vehicles shuttled back and forth. The builders stayed at the front line of construction, achieving a "strong start" to the new year.

The Hainan Yangpu Regional International Container Hub Port Expansion Project is a key project serving the island-wide customs closure of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. After the shoreline was completed and put into use, the construction unit, CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., is making every effort to seize the construction schedule and complete key milestones before the Spring Festival, including unloading in the heavy container area and sand cushion and drainage board construction in the empty container area and auxiliary construction area.

On January 1, dynamic compaction operations were underway in the heavy container area of the Hainan Yangpu Regional International Container Hub Port Expansion Project.

Phase I ground treatment works are in full swing: a large amount of machinery has been deployed in the heavy container area for unloading and dynamic compaction; in the empty container area and auxiliary construction area, surcharge loading and drainage board installation are being advanced simultaneously. Phase II yard construction is also proceeding in an orderly manner.

The Phase I project of the Gaopai Port Area of Basuo Port, located in Dongfang City, is an upgrade benchmark for the core industrial port on the western wing of Hainan Province's "Four Directions, Five Ports" layout. At present, wharf and channel works and breakwater works are underway here. The builders from the construction unit, CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd., stayed at the front line of construction during the New Year holiday to ensure that the project construction maintains a strong momentum of progress at the beginning of the new year.

It is reported that the Phase I wharf and channel project of the Gaopai Port Area of Basuo Port will build 2 berths, including 1 30,000-ton multi-purpose berth and 1 70,000-ton general-purpose berth, with a designed annual throughput capacity of 6.7 million tons. In addition, a 4.22-kilometer breakwater will be newly built. After the project is completed, it will significantly enhance the capacity of Basuo Port and provide annual cargo capacity support of 6.7 million tons for the Hunan-Hainan Advanced Manufacturing Co-construction Industrial Park.

On January 1, breakwater construction was underway in the Phase I project of the Gaopai Port Area of Basuo Port.

At present, construction of the north breakwater, central breakwater, and west breakwater is progressing smoothly. The overall completion of rock filling for the project has reached 35.2%, laying the foundation for subsequent construction.

In addition to port construction, multiple highway projects in the Hainan Free Trade Port are also under intensive construction. During the New Year holiday, the civil works Section 2 project of the G98 Hainan Ring Expressway Greater Sanya Section Expansion Project presented a bustling scene of construction, with more than 1,000 engineering personnel from CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. working on site.

The G98 Hainan Ring Expressway Greater Sanya Section Expansion Project is a major project of the Hainan Free Trade Port and is of great significance for further improving the national and regional road network, enhancing the traffic capacity and service level of the Greater Sanya Section of the Hainan Ring Expressway, and expanding the urban development space of Sanya.

On January 2, the civil works Section 2 project of the G98 Hainan Ring Expressway Greater Sanya Section Expansion Project was under construction.

Now is the "golden period" for construction. The project department is anchored to the schedule milestones and, through scientific coordination of holiday construction arrangements, ensures steady progress of construction. At present, this section has completed 30% of subgrade works, 86% of bridge pile foundations, and 35% of bridge substructure construction, and has begun construction of precast box girders and cast-in-place box girders for the superstructure.

At the construction site of the G98 Ring Expressway Damao Tunnel Reconstruction Project, builders from CCCC First Highway Xiamen Engineering Co., Ltd. are carrying out drilling for pedestrian passages and installation of waterproof boards inside the tunnel. It is understood that the project will add a double-arch bidirectional four-lane tunnel and, at the same time, retain and utilize the existing tunnel after disease treatment.
