On December 3, the super-large-diameter slurry shield machine "Shicheng Innovation," jointly developed by China Railway Tunnel Group and China Railway Engineering Equipment Group, successfully rolled off the production line in Shanghai. The equipment will be officially deployed in the shield-driven section of the Ma'anshan City Hubei Road River Crossing, the longest tunnel across the Wanjiang River, injecting strong momentum into the upgrading of the local "one river, two banks" transportation hub.

It is understood that the Hubei Road River Crossing is an important river crossing for Ma'anshan City to promote the coordinated development of both banks of the river and directly connect the central urban areas on both sides. It is also currently the longest river-crossing tunnel in the Wanjiang region, with a total route length of approximately 10.162 kilometers, of which the shield tunnel is 5,391 meters long.

The "Shicheng Innovation" shield machine has an excavation diameter of 15.07 meters and a length of about 145 meters. The overall design adopts multiple innovative technologies, whose application not only improves construction efficiency but also provides solid support for ensuring project safety.

The Hubei Road River Crossing is an important cross-river project connecting Ma'anshan City and He County. Once completed, the project will join Tianmen Avenue, the Chaoma High-Speed Railway road-rail dual-purpose bridge, and G347 to form the "core inner ring" of Ma'anshan City. The optimization of this transportation layout will effectively expand urban development space and relieve traffic pressure on both banks, and is of great significance for improving Ma'anshan's comprehensive transportation system, optimizing the urban spatial layout, promoting Ma'anshan's construction of a high-level city, and enhancing its level of opening-up.
