Recently, the EPC project of the Bahrain Aluminum Plant Captive Power Station undertaken by SEPCOIII (Shandong Electric Power Construction No.3 Company) won the MEED 2025 "Best Power Project Award" for the Bahrain region, thanks to its outstanding engineering quality, technological innovation, and comprehensive value.

The MEED Projects Awards are judged by a panel formed by MEED, a well-known business magazine in the Middle East, together with Mashreq Bank. The awards aim to recognize and honor the best projects in the construction, infrastructure, and municipal facilities categories of the construction industry, and are one of the most influential awards for assessing construction quality in the Middle East.

The EPC project of the Bahrain Aluminum Plant Captive Power Station is located in the ASKAR area of the Southern Governorate of Bahrain. The project adopts combined cycle technology with a single-shaft, one-on-one air-cooled configuration, and has a designed installed capacity of 680.8 MW in winter and 592.4 MW in summer. On December 21, 2024, the project successfully completed its PAC work and obtained the TOC certificate. The successful commissioning of the project is of extremely great significance for driving a new leap in the production capacity of Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) and promoting local economic development.
