Recently, PowerChina Guiyang Engineering Corporation (Guiyang Institute) achieved another success in overseas market development, signing contracts successively for the Thanh Hoa waste-to-energy project in Vietnam and the Kogl Hydropower Station project in Papua New Guinea. This marks new progress in Guiyang Institute's in-depth layout in the Asia-Pacific regional market and further strengthens its international operation capabilities.

Thanh Hoa, Vietnam: Waste-to-Energy Project Supports Green Development

In Vietnam, Guiyang Institute successfully signed an EPC contract with the local investment company Vietnam Nghi Son Environment Co., Ltd. for a 50 t/day waste + 100 t/day hazardous waste incineration power generation project. The signing of this project represents a new breakthrough for Guiyang Institute in waste-to-energy projects. Thanh Hoa Province, as an important province in central Vietnam, has seen household waste output rise year by year with population growth and urbanization. Traditional landfill methods not only occupy large amounts of land but also easily cause secondary pollution of soil, groundwater, and air. Through a treatment model of "reduction, harmlessness, and resource recovery," the waste-to-energy project can dispose of hundreds of tons of household waste per day. The electricity generated by waste incineration can be fed into Vietnam's national grid, supplementing power supply for industry and residents in Thanh Hoa Province and reducing dependence on traditional thermal power (coal power), while also creating jobs and bringing a positive impact on the region's ecological environment improvement, economy, and social development.

Papua New Guinea: Hydropower Project Empowers Mining Development

In Papua New Guinea, Guiyang Institute, together with Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co., Ltd., signed an EPC contract with the local power investor Bismarck Energy for the 90 MW Kogl Hydropower Station. As a member enterprise of the consortium, Guiyang Institute is responsible for the project's survey and design as well as complete sets of electromechanical equipment. After completion, the project will mainly supply green electricity to nearby mining areas. Next, Guiyang Institute will provide technical services to the owner in strict accordance with contract requirements and deliver the project with high quality, thereby laying a solid foundation for the development of subsequent projects in the country.

The successful signing of the two projects is an important achievement of Guiyang Institute's deep cultivation of the Asia-Pacific market and expansion of diversified business segments, further consolidating its market position in the fields of environmental protection energy and clean hydropower. At present, the preliminary work of each project is proceeding in an orderly manner. Guiyang Institute will fully leverage its whole-industry-chain advantages and, with strong technical capabilities and rich overseas project delivery experience, build the projects into regional benchmark projects, burnish the PowerChina brand through concrete actions, and support the green and low-carbon development of the host countries.
