On October 30, the main works of the Jiangxi Ganxian Pumped Storage Power Station broke ground.

The Jiangxi Ganxian Pumped Storage Power Station is a key implementation project of China's 14th Five-Year Plan and a project under Jiangxi Province's "Ten, Hundred, Thousand, Ten Thousand" Project Action Plan, and is a Class I large (1) type project. The hub structures mainly consist of the upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water conveyance system, underground powerhouse cavern complex and surface switchyard, with a total of four reversible pump-turbine generator units each with a unit capacity of 300 MW installed. The first unit is scheduled to be commissioned for power generation in December 2029, and the project will be fully completed and put into operation in July 2030.

After the project is completed, it will undertake tasks such as peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage and emergency accident reserve for the Jiangxi power grid. It is expected to absorb 1.728 billion kWh of off-peak electricity annually, provide 1.296 billion kWh of peak electricity, save 428,000 tons of standard coal per year, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.0668 million tons.

All construction participants of the 14th Bureau of Sinohydro will raise their political stance, strengthen resource allocation, organize construction scientifically and in an orderly manner, and work together to promote the high-quality completion of construction tasks, winning a good brand reputation with a project milestone, and injecting strong green momentum to help the high-quality development of the Gannan revolutionary old area.
