On November 22, the Niuling Reservoir Project, constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 4 Co., Ltd., successfully completed a 72-hour full-load trial operation and was put into full-capacity power generation.

The Niuling Reservoir Project is located in Jing County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, on the middle reaches of the Huishui River, the largest tributary in the upper reaches of the Qingyi River. It is a comprehensive water conservancy hub project focused primarily on flood control, combined with water supply, and also incorporating power generation and irrigation. The project's generating units are arranged in the powerhouse and consist of 2 main units and 2 ecological units; the installed capacity of each main unit is 8.5 MW, and the installed capacity of each ecological unit is 1 MW, for a total installed capacity of 19 MW.

As the largest and most heavily invested water conservancy livelihood project independently built in Jing County to date, once completed the reservoir will be operated in joint dispatch with the Chencun Reservoir and supported by the construction of the Qingyi River channel improvement project, raising the flood control standard of Jing County's urban area from roughly a 20-year return period to a 50-year return period. It will also safeguard flood control for the Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed railway, National Highway 205, and Provincial Highway 322, improve downstream flood control capacity, and protect nearly 300,000 people and 110,000 mu of farmland.
