On the morning of November 20, the Tianjin Airport No. 1 Tunnel of the Beijing-Binhai Intercity Railway completed its shield tunneling task and achieved a safe and smooth breakthrough. This is the first tunnel to break through in the Phase II project of the Beijing-Binhai Intercity Railway.
The Tianjin Airport No. 1 Tunnel of the Beijing-Binhai Intercity Railway is located in Dongli District, Tianjin, with a total length of 3,394.5 meters, of which the shield tunneling section is 2,940 meters long. It successively passes beneath several important surface facilities, including the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway, the Jinhan Highway, and the Limingzhuang Depot of Metro Line 2. The entire project presents construction difficulties such as "large diameter" and "long distance," posing challenges to the safe tunneling of the shield machine.
The reporter learned that the "Jingbin Tongxin" shield machine used this time has an excavation diameter of 13.8 meters, making it one of the largest railway shield machines in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. During tunneling, multiple intelligent systems, including the "intelligent tunneling" system and the "intelligent detection and analysis" system, improved the precision of the tunnel alignment, reduced surface settlement, and ensured the safe tunneling of the shield machine.
