Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources issued a letter regarding the pre-examination opinion on the land use for the expansion project of the Changshu-Taizhou Expressway from the Yinshan Junction to the Jiangsu-Zhejiang Provincial Boundary. Upon review, the land use for the project complies with regulations, and approval in principle has been granted for the land use pre-examination, with 76.08 hectares (1,141 mu) of construction land approved.

The project starts at the Yinshan Junction in Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, runs south through Wuzhong District and Wujiang District, and ends at the Jiangsu-Zhejiang boundary, with a total length of 38.408 kilometers. It will be reconstructed and expanded to a dual-direction, eight-lane expressway standard, with a standard subgrade width of 42 meters and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. It includes 14.321 kilometers of subgrade works, 14.038 kilometers of bridge works, 8 interchanges, two toll facilities, and one service facility. The total project investment is approximately 11.366 billion yuan.

The expansion project of the Changshu-Taizhou Expressway from the Yinshan Junction to the Jiangsu-Zhejiang Provincial Boundary has been included in the National Highway Network Plan (2013-2030) and the Jiangsu Provincial Expressway Network Plan (2017-2035). It is an important component of the Changshu-Taizhou Expressway (G1522). Its construction is of great significance for improving the regional expressway network layout, enhancing the traffic capacity and service level of the national expressway corridor, strengthening inter-provincial connectivity, and promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
