Committee Member Wu Daisha——
Research and Exploration to Boost the Development of the Ecological Industry (Building Modernization Together, Painting a New Picture · Stories of Deputies and Committee Members Performing Their Duties)
Just after the Spring Festival holiday, Wu Daisha, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and vice president of Pingxiang University in Jiangxi, stood by Poyang Lake, investigating the impact of relevant local measures on the ecological environment and the habitat of wintering migratory birds, and learning about the situation from villagers in nearby villages and staff of the environmental protection department.
"Unique natural conditions, geological history, and human activities have made the Yangtze River Basin a social-economic-natural composite ecosystem in which natural and human elements are interrelated and interact with each other," Wu Daisha said. "Ecological problems are very complex and require a systematic perspective to maintain the dynamic balance of the ecosystem."
As a member of the National Committee of the CPPCC, Wu Daisha has consistently focused on ecological environmental protection and ecological civilization construction. In the past year alone, he conducted research in more than 30 districts and counties, including Wuning County and Fuliang County in Jiangxi, both identifying problems and summarizing experience.
In 2019, Wu Daisha took note of the innovative ecological product savings bank model in Wuning County, which focuses on solving the problems of "difficulty in measurement, difficulty in mortgage, difficulty in trading, and difficulty in monetization" in realizing the value of ecological products. "Last year I went to Wuning County for research again and found that, on the basis of the ecological product savings bank, they had developed more cultural and leisure service ecological products," Wu Daisha said. "Some of these experiences and practices are worth learning from and promoting."
Based on the research and practice of the past few years, this year Wu Daisha wrote a proposal on the development of the ecological industry, putting forward suggestions on expanding and extending the ecological product industrial chain and value chain, establishing an industrial talent reserve, and improving the industrial system.
"I will continue to pay attention to the **research and practice of ecological civilization construction," Wu Daisha said.

Performing one's duties responsibly requires giving play to professional strengths. Having served for seven years as dean of the School of Resources and Environment at Nanchang University, Wu Daisha, a member of the National Committee of the CPPCC, has deep thinking on ecological civilization construction. Long-term frontline research has also accumulated rich material for Wu Daisha's proposals.
"The topic of ecological civilization construction requires sustained attention and research," Wu Daisha said. "We must maintain patience, follow up over the long term, observe carefully, and summarize experience."
