Recently, the China Highway Construction Industry Association announced the results of the 2022-2023 (second batch) Highway Transportation Quality Engineering Awards. Five projects in which China Railway 14th Bureau Group participated were honored: the Nanjing Yangtze River Fifth Bridge, the Fujian Shacheng Bay Cross-Sea Highway Corridor Project, the Yongtai Wutong to Youxi Zhongxian Section of the Putian-Yanling Expressway, the Laiwu to Linyi (Shandong-Jiangsu Border) Section Reconstruction and Expansion Project of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, and the Wendeng to Laiyang Highway Project.
The Highway Transportation Quality Engineering Award, also known as the "Li Chun Award," is the highest quality award in China's highway transportation industry. It mainly recognizes engineering projects that have achieved outstanding results in construction management concepts, engineering construction quality, scientific and technological innovation achievements, and management, maintenance, and operation. It is the highest honor for Chinese highway builders.
Nanjing Yangtze River Fifth Bridge

The Nanjing Yangtze River Fifth Bridge adopts an overall "bridge + tunnel" layout, divided into three parts: the north approach, the river-crossing bridge, and the Jiajiang Tunnel. The Nanjing Jiangxinzhou Jiajiang Tunnel, constructed by China Railway 14th Bureau Group, starts from the bridge-tunnel boundary point on the west side of the planned Central Avenue on Meizizhou, passes under the Jiajiang River in shield-driven form, and ends at the already opened Qing'ao Axis underground project. The shield tunnel has a total length of 1,159 meters. The successful construction of this project is of great significance for supporting the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy, promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, improving the layout of national trunk highways and river-crossing channels in the lower Yangtze region, supporting the construction of the Jiangbei New Area, and alleviating traffic pressure across the Yangtze River in Nanjing.
Fujian Shacheng Bay Cross-Sea Highway Corridor Project

The Shacheng Bay Cross-Sea Highway is an important part of the Ningbo-to-Dongguan line of the national expressway network and a key project of the "second vertical" in the "three vertical and eight horizontal" main framework of the expressway network in the West Taiwan Strait Economic Zone, crossing Shacheng Bay. Its completion further improves the national and regional expressway networks, enhances the service level of the north-south coastal transportation corridor, and builds a major channel from the northeastern wing of Fujian in the West Taiwan Strait Economic Zone to the Yangtze River Delta. It strengthens economic exchanges and cooperation between the West Taiwan Strait Economic Zone and the Yangtze River Delta and better integrates the region into the national economic development pattern.
Yongtai Wutong to Youxi Zhongxian Section of the Putian-Yanling Expressway

The construction of the Yongtai Wutong to Youxi Zhongxian Section of the Putian-Yanling Expressway further enhances Fujian Province's capacity to radiate and drive external development as the core area of the Maritime Silk Road and promotes economic and trade cooperation with inland provinces such as Jiangxi and Hunan. At the same time, it will expand the development hinterland of Meizhou Bay Port and boost the economic development of the former Central Soviet Area and old revolutionary base areas along the route.
Laiwu to Linyi (Shandong-Jiangsu Border) Section Reconstruction and Expansion Project of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway

With the opening of the Laiwu to Linyi (Shandong-Jiangsu Border) Section Reconstruction and Expansion Project of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, Shandong Province has its third dual-direction, eight-lane expressway after the Ji-Qing Expressway and the Bin-Lai Expressway. This greatly improves the traffic capacity and service level of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and will have a greater impact on better serving the construction of the Yimeng old revolutionary base area, boosting the conversion of old and new growth drivers, and promoting the economic and social development of areas along the route and even central and southern Shandong Province.
Wendeng to Laiyang Highway Project

The Wen-Lai Expressway starts in Wendeng City, Weihai, and passes through four counties and cities—Wendeng, Rushan, Haiyang, and Laiyang—running across the central hinterland of the Jiaodong Peninsula, with a total length of 133.9 kilometers. It is a key project in Shandong Province's "13th Five-Year Plan" and a component of the "eight links" in Shandong Province's "eight vertical, four horizontal, one ring, and eight links" expressway network. It is an important channel connecting central Shandong with the Shandong Peninsula. After opening to traffic, it further expands the main external travel corridor for the Yantai-Weihai area and greatly improves traffic conditions for residents along the route.
