At 10:00 on October 16, as the last box girder of the bridge-erecting machine landed precisely on piers No. 49-50 of the Ningchang River No. 2 Grand Bridge, the double-track (both carriageways) of the Ningchang River No. 2 Grand Bridge, constructed by Gansu Wuhuan Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. under the Wuxian Third Bid Section, was smoothly completed and connected.

The Ningchang River No. 2 Grand Bridge has a total length of 1,507 m. The bridge site is located within Ningchang Village, Huangcheng Town, Sunan County. The bridge is laid out within a turbulent river channel with a V-shaped cross-section. The bridge superstructure consists of 50×30 m prefabricated prestressed concrete box girders, with a total of 400 box girders, each weighing more than 103 tonnes. The bridge substructure piers adopt a double-cylindrical pier configuration with pile foundations.

Since the start of the project, the Wuxian Third Bid Section has aimed to create a "provincial-level green ecological demonstration highway," adhering to a high starting point, high standards, and strict requirements. It has actively overcome unfavorable factors such as complex geological conditions, steep construction terrain, poor climatic conditions, short effective construction period, high environmental protection requirements, and difficult land acquisition and demolition. Guided by the "Three Grasps and Three Promotions" action, it has made overall arrangements, organized scientifically, reversed the construction schedule, and concentrated efforts on tackling difficulties, advancing project construction with high quality and efficiency. During box girder erection, a leadership shift system was implemented, on-site resource allocation was strengthened, construction plans were continuously optimized, construction production was scientifically organized, labor competitions were actively carried out, technical and safety briefings for construction teams were consistently delivered, and on-site technical and safety quality management was strictly enforced. With an efficiency of erecting an average of 4 box girders per day, it stood out in the project and took the lead in completing the connection.

The smooth completion and connection of the Ningchang River No. 2 Grand Bridge reflects the effectiveness of the project's "50 Days of Intensive Work" labor competition campaign, sets a leading example for the completion of other construction milestones in the project, provides an important guarantee for subsequent bridge deck system construction, and also lays a solid foundation for completing the main construction tasks before the end of the year.
