On September 15, the drainage channel of Qingcun Tunnel in Section 2 of the Kangyu High-Speed Railway successfully completed crown breakthrough and entered main tunnel construction. This is the first section on the entire Kangyu High-Speed Railway line to complete crown breakthrough and tunnel entry construction.

Qingcun Tunnel is located in Hanbin District, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, in the eastern part of the Qinba Mountains, with the Han River to the south and the Qinling Mountains to the north. It features a tectonically denuded middle-mountain landform, with great topographic relief, a dense network of gullies, and winding rivers and roads. The tunnel has a total length of 5,458 m. The geological structure in the tunnel area is complex, with the tunnel mainly passing through 7 faults and 3 folds. Geological problems are prominent, safety risks are high, and construction is difficult.
It is reported that this project is also an important part of the Baoji (Yinchuan)-Haikou and Beijing-Kunming corridors of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. It is positioned as a high-speed railway corridor that mainly serves interregional passenger flow while also accommodating intercity passenger flow along the line. After completion and opening to traffic, the railway travel time from Ankang to Chongqing will be shortened from nearly 7 hours to 1.5 hours.
