The Academic Conference on Foundation Engineering of the Architectural Society of China (2023) was held in Beijing from July 26 to 28. The conference was jointly hosted by the Foundation Engineering Branch of the Architectural Society of China, the Institute of Foundation Engineering of China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd., and Beijing Jinshan Foundation Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd.; it was organized by Jianyan Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd., Beijing Research Institute of Construction Mechanization Co., Ltd., the State Key Laboratory of Building Safety and Environment, the National Engineering Research Center of Building Technology, the Disaster Prevention Research Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Beijing Engineering Technology Research Center for Renovation of Existing Buildings, and the Beijing Engineering Technology Research Center for Foundation Engineering and Underground Space Development and Utilization, and also received active co-organization and support from many units.

This conference featured many highlights, including: 1 Huang Xiling Foundation Engineering Forum lecture, 19 conference reports, 1 high-level guest dialogue, 14 special academic reports celebrating the 70th anniversary of China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd., 6 invited reports at sub-venues, and 30 thematic reports at sub-venues, with exhibition and display activities held concurrently. The conference aimed to exchange the latest research results achieved in the field of foundation engineering in recent years in response to China's urbanization development, and to conduct academic discussions on future needs and hot and difficult issues in this field.
