Recently, hosted by the China Construction Machinery Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) and organized by Beijing Tianshi Huagong International Exhibition Co., Ltd., with the theme of "Innovation, Intelligence, Green, Foresight," the "CRCHI Cup" — the 7th BICES Creative Design Competition for Construction Machinery and Special Vehicles (hereinafter referred to as the Creative Design Competition) officially launched on August 23, 2022, and by the registration deadline of May 30, 2023, received more than 200 entries submitted from all parties in the construction machinery industry.

Among them, more than 50 works were submitted by construction machinery enterprises and enthusiasts, and 150 entries were submitted by individuals and teams from dozens of professional higher education institutions. The submitted works covered various products of construction machinery and special vehicles, with outstanding creativity, distinct themes, novel styling, unique designs, and strong practicality, fully reflecting the rich imagination and considerable design level of the participants.

Wu Peiguo, Secretary-General of the Association and Chairman of Beijing Tianshi Huagong International Exhibition Co., Ltd., stated that the Association organizes the Creative Design Competition concurrently with the BICES exhibition, aiming to further implement the goal of high-quality development of construction machinery, promote innovative development of the construction machinery industry, achieve the upgrading of the industrial foundation and modernization of the industrial chain of the construction machinery industry, respond to a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and, based on the actual needs of China's transformation of economic development mode, focus on key links such as innovation-driven development, intelligent transformation, strengthening the foundation, green development, and talent-oriented development, so that more outstanding young talents and young students can participate in creative and innovative practices.

As the organizer of the competition, the Association will recently organize relevant industry experts to carry out the review of the works. The submitted works will be evaluated in two groups: the social group and the university group, with each group respectively selecting several first, second, and third prizes. In addition to being publicized and displayed on the Association's and the exhibition's various media platforms, representatives of the authors of the award-winning works will also be invited to attend the grand award ceremony held concurrently with the BICES 2023 exhibition in Beijing on September 20-23, to enjoy their moment of glory.

As a supporting event of BICES, the biennial Creative Design Competition has been successfully held six times since its inception in 2008, and has received great attention and strong support from relevant state departments, industry enterprises, research institutions, professional colleges and universities, social organizations, senior media, and other relevant parties in the industry. In particular, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited, a leading backbone enterprise in the construction machinery tunneling machinery industry, has provided title sponsorship support for the competition for three consecutive editions. The continued holding of the competition will surely make positive contributions to promoting construction machinery culture, advancing scientific and technological progress and innovation in construction machinery, enhancing the appearance design level of Chinese construction machinery products, stimulating the creative enthusiasm of industry practitioners and construction machinery enthusiasts, discovering design talent, and building a high-level exchange platform for industry product design.
