As the second quarter, the golden construction season, arrives, the construction site of the Xiong'an Hub Project of the Xiong'an-Shangqiu High-Speed Railway, undertaken by China Railway Sixth Group Beijing Railway Construction Company, presents a scene of bustling activity. All construction workers are striving on the front line, and subgrade, bridge, building construction and other works are advancing in an orderly manner. "The Xiong'an Hub Project includes 'three bridges and two depots' and covers multiple specialized works such as subgrade, bridges, tracks and buildings, placing high demands on comprehensive construction capability. In addition, all bridge girders of the project are cast-in-place, and a high proportion of the work involves construction on operating railway lines, with strict quality requirements and high safety risks, making it very important to implement safety measures," said the deputy secretary of the Party branch and chief engineer of the Xiong'an-Shangqiu Project Department.

On May 19, the main-line land use for the Ruili–Menglian Expressway (Dehong section) received approval from the Ministry of Natural Resources. With this, the entire line of Yunnan's longest expressway under construction has been approved. The Ruili–Menglian Expressway (abbreviated as "Rui–Meng Expressway"), with a total length of 521.36 km, starts near Jiele Village, Mengmao Town, Ruili City, Yunnan Province, connecting with the Longrui Expressway, and passes through Huyu Village, Huyu Township, Ruili City; Xiangda Town and Mengnuo Town, Longling County, Baoshan City; Longzhen Bridge, Zhenkang County, Lincang City; Mengpeng Town, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture; Zhenkang County (Nansan), Lincang City; Qingshuihe Village, Mengding Town, Gengma County; Mengding Town, Gengma Dai and Va Autonomous County, Lincang City;

Left Tube of Liudong Extra-Long Tunnel on Guiyang-Pingtang Expressway Exceeds 3,000 Meters in Excavation

On May 27, the left tube of the Liudong Extra-Long Tunnel, part of Contract Section 18 of the Guiyang-Pingtang Expressway constructed by Guizhou Road & Bridge Group, surpassed the 3,000-meter mark in excavation. With a total length of 4,050 meters, the Liudong Extra-Long Tunnel is a controlling project for the entire line. The area traversed by the tunnel has complex geological conditions, and construction faces multiple challenges, including karst development, fractured rock masses, developed joints and fissures, poor surrounding rock stability, and large water inflow.

Pingbu Tunnel on Guangxi Baise North Ring Expressway Achieves Double-Track Breakthrough, Marking Full Completion of All Tunnels on the Project

On May 28, as the last meter of arch rock was broken through, the Pingbu Tunnel of the Guangxi Baise North Ring Expressway project, constructed by CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., achieved double-track breakthrough, marking the completion of all five tunnels along the project and laying the foundation for the full line's opening to traffic in 2025. The Baise North Ring Expressway project is a key initiative for Guangxi to integrate into the new open development pattern of "southward connection, northward linkage, eastward integration, and westward cooperation." The main line of the project runs approximately 52.589 kilometers and is built to a two-way, four-lane standard with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. It starts near Zhitang Village, Naman Town, Tianyang District, Baise City, where the Naman interchange connects to the Guangzhou-Kunming Expressway, and ends in Youjiang District, Baise City.

On May 27, as the final segment was safely and smoothly lifted into its designated position on the left main arch ring, the left main arch ring of the Wumengshan Bridge—constructed by the Highway Group under Guizhou Transportation Construction Group for the Naqing T12 contract section—completed its lifting, and both main arch rings of the Wumengshan Bridge were successfully closed.
