First Arch Rib Segment of Machang River Grand Bridge on Guiping Expressway Successfully Hoisted into Place

Recently, the first arch rib segment of the Machang River Grand Bridge on the Guiyang–Pingtang (Guizhou–Guangxi border) section of the G7522 Guiyang–Beihai Expressway PPP project of Guizhou Expressway Group (abbreviated as Guiping Expressway) was successfully hoisted into place, marking the entry of the bridge's superstructure construction into a substantive phase. The Machang River Grand Bridge is a controlling project of the Guiping Expressway. Located in Machanghe Township, Guiding County, it is a half-through concrete-filled steel tubular truss arch bridge with a main span of 260 meters. The entire bridge uses 8,247.3 tons of steel, and the main arch rib consists of 28 segments. The arch rib hoisted in this first segment is 20.77 meters long, 3.6 meters wide and 6.6 meters high, weighing approximately 110 tons.

Recently, the main pier pile cap of the Yuhang Canal Bridge Project was successfully poured, marking a breakthrough and milestone progress in the project's bridge construction! The project is located in Yuhang District, involving Renhe Subdistrict. The designed starting point is at the intersection of Dongxi Avenue and Liangtang Line, with the route extending westward to cross over the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, constructing a new full-width double-deck bridge on the north side of the existing canal bridge, and ending at the intersection of Dongxi Avenue and Wufu Road. The project aims to complete the main works by the end of December 2025.

Recently, it was learned from Nanjing Metro that the final component of the 'New Journey' shield tunneling machine for Nanjing Metro Line 4 Phase II—the shield tail—will arrive smoothly at the Jiangxinzhou construction site, marking that the shield machine is about to complete assembly and that its launch is entering the countdown stage. At that time, the shield machine will tunnel 43 meters underground, excavating a convenient passage connecting the north and south banks.

Shield Launch for the Hengmen Shaft–Xiangshan Station Shield Tunneling Section of the Nanzhong Intercity Railway

On May 31, at the Hengmen Shaft construction site of the Nanzhong Intercity Railway Lot 2 project undertaken by China Railway No.2 Engineering Group, the "Xiangshan No.1" — the first shield tunneling machine on the entire Nanzhong Intercity Railway (Zhongshan section) — was successfully launched and began boring toward Xiangshan Station, marking the official entry of the Nanzhong Intercity Railway (Zhongshan section) into the shield tunneling construction phase.

At 10:18 a.m. on May 28, shield tunneling was launched on the left line of the section from Humen Guangming Road Station to Binhai Bay Station under Civil Construction Contract 2332 of Phase III of Dongguan Urban Rail Transit Line 2, marking the transition from station construction to section construction and a solid step toward "tunnel breakthrough."

Right Tube Excavation of Chenjiapingzi Tunnel on Lu-Qiao Expressway Exceeds 1,000 Meters

On June 1, excavation of the right tube at the entrance of the Chenjiapingzi Tunnel on the expressway from Ludian County to Qiaojia County in Zhaotong City surpassed 1,000 meters, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent breakthrough of the tunnel. The contract section undertaken by the Civil Engineering Division 4 of the Lu-Qiao Expressway project contains a total of 10 single-tube tunnels with a combined length of 17,963 meters. The right tube of the Chenjiapingzi Tunnel has a total length of 1,927 meters; the tunnel's geological conditions are complex, construction is difficult, and technical requirements are high. In particular, where tunnel construction reached the 800–950 meter section, the surrounding rock was relatively fractured and serious block falling occurred at the crown. The project department organized scientifically and carried out standardized construction; based on actual site conditions, it adopted measures such as short advance, weak blasting, strong support, and early ring closure.

Construction of the Changtang Reservoir Project in Guilin, Guangxi Begins

Construction of the Changtang Reservoir Project in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, recently commenced. The project has been incorporated into the National 14th Five-Year Plan and the Outline of the 2035 Long-Range Objectives, as well as the National 14th Five-Year Plan for Water Security. It is one of the 150 major water conservancy projects deployed and implemented by the State Council.
