In this paper, the author, combining the principles of metal heat treatment with experience from actual production, summarizes the forming process of upset heads for prestressed concrete pipe piles. By adjusting the parameters of the upsetting machine and the dimensions of the PC steel bar upset heads, and by changing the shape of the upset heads and the heating effect, the tensile strength of the upset heads of prestressed concrete pipe piles is made to reach its optimum.
