Prevention and Mitigation of Hazards from Dense Long Pipe Pile Construction and Their Evaluation
High-rise buildings have been springing up like bamboo shoots after rain in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. Prestressed pipe piles are often the foundation support form adopted for high-rise buildings, while the building foundations lie in the soft soil layer of coastal bay accumulated terraces. Improper construction can cause deformation and displacement of the soil and piles, destroying the original equilibrium state of the soil and adversely affecting surrounding existing buildings, underground pipelines, pipe networks, and other facilities. Based on construction management experience with high-rise buildings, the author summarizes technical measures for preventing and mitigating hazards from dense long pipe pile construction, so as to avoid or reduce the impact of long pile construction on the surrounding soil, buildings, underground facilities, and the environment, and to achieve civilized construction.
